Murray Baird (BA, LLB), has been practising law for over 30 years, principally in the commercial area. He is an LIV Approved Mediator. Murray has acted in a broad range of commercial matters and has advised medium to large sized companies, statutory bodies, local councils, and community organisations such as charities, educational institutions and churches. His commercial expertise includes corporations law with particular emphasis on governance issues, sales and acquisitions, agreements and contracts, business structures, trade practices, commercial negotiations, tax planning and franchising.

Murray has a strong commitment to involvement in the local community and holds a number of leadership roles in schools, community housing, church and business organisations. Murray is Chairman of the Ansvar Board and a member of several community boards.

He is also a regular writer, speaker and consultant on corporate governance issues for the Not for Profit sector. He is a consultant in the application of The Australian Governance System (TAGS) in community organisations.
